Who we are
The Silverton Street Market relies entirely on local villagers to both plan and run the event. Our goal is not only to create funds for the various village groups we support, but also to create a fabulous day of fun at the same time. Getting involved is very rewarding, whether its helping to plan the event during the year or helping out just on the day itself. Please do get involved if you can!
The Local Committee
The committee meets one a month from January to August, usually in the Lamb Inn at 8pm. We plan the Street Market each year and discuss various things over the months, such as deciding on the theme for the Street Market, arranging the entertainments and the music, designing and publishing the programme, and choosing the food and drink providers. Everyone is welcome to join us, we do have a set of rules which govern how we run things but they’re pretty relaxed.
Helpers on the Day
The groups we support provide the bulk of the helpers on the day, but we still need more people as there’s always so much to do. From car parking to helping out at the bar, directing traffic to putting out table and chairs, there are a wealth of different jobs you can get involved in from dawn until dusk; please contact us if you think you can help out.
